AARRGH!!

"Things are not going well at all with The Cat (details at improbable_cars), with a lot of luck I might be able to head out to Toronto an hour or two later than planned. If not I won't be going.

For the first time I think I truely understand [C]'s comments of 'new car lust'. As much as I love The Cat, if I had a new(er) car I'd just get in it and go, instead of putting this much work/money/frustration into a 12year old 258K+ mile vehicle to make it sufficiently roadworthy.

I know I said if I didn't get her fixed in time I wouldn't go, but at this point I'm in a state of shear bloody-mindedness of 'I said I was driving to Toronto and I damn well am driving to Toronto!' So wish me luck I guess."

Not going

"Well the repairs I was attempting I finished, but that did not fix the problem, I think I have it located but am not currently able to fix it.
While if it is what I now think it is I could drive it with no ill effects I have managed to exhaust myself the last two days trying to fix this and am too tired to try an 8+ hour drive in an iffy car.
This sucks dead diseased pureed donkeys through a bendy straw."
