Quick update
Received notice from landlord that we are to vacate premises by August 30th.
Found a very nice house for sale with the chance to be the COOLEST PLACE EVER(tm), more on that soon.
Need to talk to a financial planner, mortgage broker and real estate agent this coming week.
Now even if I have no problem getting a mortgage, and this house has no problems and is exactly what we want. There is almost no chance in hell of going from zero to closing in under six weeks. But if we get into another apartment, we may get seriously screwed on fees and penalties for breaking a lease after a few months. We *may* be able to find a place w/o a lease, we *may* be able to find somewhere else to stay, but it is all very much up in the air.
My life is going to be complete, unbridled insanity very quickly. Consider this fair warning that I may not have time for stuff, or may be uncommunicative, or may be distracted for a while with all this going on.
