Pembleton Brooklands
That is without a doubt one of the most gloriously beautifully mad vehicles I have laid eyes on. And I want one so badly it hurts.
It is called a Pembleton Brooklands, and is a kit car from the UK. It uses a Citroen 2CV suspension & running gear (and either the 2CV engine or a BMW motorcycle engine). This is attached to a custom frame and topped with with an aluminum skin.
I'd be looking at $4000-5000 for the kit, shipped from the UK. Plus I'd have to find a donor car. But given 2CVs tendency to rot out in the frame (and the fact I don't need that bit) and that means I can probably find a donor for another $1000-2000 (possibly even in the UK via the kitcar company as they are much more common there).
Add in the fudge factor and I am looking at something that jaw-droppingly amazing for at or under $10K.
I don't need *both* kidneys, right?...
