is cotton candy goth?
Sep. 4th, 2001 05:11 pm"Well, Sunday I was supposed to work, then meet up with Thriftgirl after work so we could go to a CT poly dinner & concert that night, then spend the evening together.
I got home from work at 5pm and there was no message from her, so I hung around and waited for her to call. She called at 6pm, while I was online sending some mail. She said she was still in Brooklyn and was just heading out to dinner. But said that she still wanted to go to the concert if possible.
Well the CT poly dinner had bstarted at 4:30pm, so I had already missed that. By the time I found the time for the concert (which was something I hadn't paid attention to since I figured I'd be going withte group to it) I had already missed half of it. And bewst case scenario I would have gotten there in time for maybe the last 1/2 hr.
So I decided it wasn't worth bothering to go. And figuring on an hour for dinner and two hours travel the soonest Thriftgirl was going to be back in CT was 9pm. I didn't feel like spending the night sitting around at home waiting for her, especially because it was her not following through on the original plans that was making me have nothing to do.
So instead I got online looking for Alley-Cat so I could get the gateway & such back from her (which she's had since Falcon Ridge). SHe wasn't around, but her roommate [T] was. So instead I told [T] 'I have to go to the bank and mail some stuff, then I'm going to come pick you up and take you out to dinner, you decide where.'
Well, upon arrival at her place she had decided on the Amherest Brew Pub, and was in the process of lacing on her calf hight black PVC boots.
Once I had helped her into them, we hopped in The Cat and headed towards Amherest.
We never made it there. Instead we passed a county fair and decided instead to go there.
So dressed up in full head to toe goth attire we wandered the fair. We rodethe ferris wheel and the carousel (I had to help [T] onto hte horse as her boots where too big to fit in the stirrups). We ate hot dogs and cotton candy. We looked at the rabbits and pigs and cows. We admired the 4-H displays, and got in a discussion with the artist of some rather unexpected artwork.
All in all it was a blast, and a throughly entertaining way to spend an evening. [T] is fun to hang out with and enjoyable company.
What was amusing was dispite my having driven up to NoHo to pick her up, and having to drive back to CTafter dropping her off, I still got to bed at a reasonable hour."
