Biograpical statement final(?) version.
Jan. 16th, 2002 10:26 am"Well, unless I get responses from ya'll before I head out to RI to pick up my transcript, this is the final version. A huge thank you to all of you for your assistance, it really improved the essay. I owe you all, and thanks again.
I was born and raised in Wethersfield, Connecticut. After I graduated high
school I moved to Rhode Island and attended New England Institute of
Technology for Computer Repair. I came to the conclusion about halfway
through the program that it was not the field for me. However I decided to
complete what I had started and graduated with an associates degree.
Since graduating NEIT in 1998 I have lived in many places in several
states, and worked at a myriad of jobs. I have moved for love, for work, for
fun, and because I was left with no other choice. I have worked with people
I liked but a jobs I hated, at jobs I loved with people I hated, and at
places where I hated both. One of the many reasons that I want to return to
college is my desire to find a place where I like both.
I have many diverse friends, scattered all across the country. I care
deeply for an about my friends, I count on them to be there for me, and they
can count on me to be there for them. Few things in life are as enjoyable to
me as making connections with new people and finding someone new to
befriend. Another part of why I'm returning to college is to meet people, to
make connections, to find people to care about and for.
I delight in finding things to be enthralled by. I have my artcar The Cat
(http://www.blert.net/thecat/) a black wagon with over 750 different
quotations scrawled upon it from every imaginable source. I have taken her
to places as far as Baltimore, Maryland and Houston, Texas to participate in
events. Some of which were the Baltimore Artscape (where I was a guest
speaker) and the Houston Orange Show Parade (where she took third place in
'Political Statement'). I have the various groups and organizations I belong
to, such as The Society of Artcars in New England (S.A.N.E.), of which I am
a charter member, as well as being a honorary member of the NSO at Vassar
College. My other hobbies include being an avid reader, I love authors who
can sweep me away in the wonder of their words. The passion and enthusiasm I
feel for my hobbies help create the final reason I wish to return to
college, which is to help me find a career field that I can be equally
passionate about.
