"So Arisia was fun, I enjoyed myself dispite the emotional blows of The Cat's demise (BTW, more detail and thoughts on that posted here). But between that and the usual strain of an entire weekend of con insanity I was nearly dead by Sunday. I rode back ron thecon with Fey & the Alley Cat, and ended up crashing at Fey's.

Today Fey & I both had taken the day off so we used it looking at apartments (dragging the Alley Cat along). While lots were nice the only one we liked enough to fill out an application for was the first one we had looked at. It's a really nice place on the 2nd & 3rd floor of a neat old building nad has a ton of rooms, a newly remodled kitchen with high-quality appliances and lots of neat old architectural fetures. It also has basement storage, and 1 garage space. We put in applications and are quietly optimistic.
Apartment hunting ended up taking up the entire day though, so I didn't get a chacne to do a post-mortum on The Cat, nor get a rental car, nor do any real car shopping. So I will be doing at least the last two of those on Tuesday. I need to get the car situation squared away as soon as possible because I can't go to work again until I have some sort of wheels (bought, borrowed or rented).

I did also get to talk to Crest on the phone today at a point when I was mostly coherent, which was nice as she called both Sat & Sun at times when I was too out of ti and/or distracted to be able to have a real conversation. I miss her and can't wait for her to return, though if she ends up staying up in Boston for a while like she is thinking I may have a new home & car by the next time we meet."

"No, really, I feel the need to apologise profusely for this link. Given that I have to say I laughed my ass off.
more than bit off-color and pointlessly silly )
