This was written for Rabbit Hole Day, in honor of Lewis Carrol's Birthday, and is not real.

"Well I was hoping for nicer weather, but WethTech is planning sub-freezing temps all night. Ah well, at least there'll be less people out walking who could spot me. I'd love to respot this to a warmer day, but every added day just adds to the risk.
I finally got that damn distributor module. And I'm almost certain that its going to get me blipped. I was able to get the cap and rotor custom milled, that was just a matter of finding another ol-teck nut with an old CNC machine and chucking in some plastic. I even got nearly sixty liters of honest to god gasoline, that only took getting a dozen friends in on the gag to each request a single liter here and there. But that fucking module. You can't just fake that with something else like I was able to with the belts, gaskets, etc. You can't fake it with newtech like the regenerative brakes[1]. If I wanted that six to ever fire again, I was going to have to brake down and get that damn distributor module. My own fault for not realizing the car had been 'upgraded' to electronic ignition some time in its 60 year history. Ended up just going and ordering it through one of the museum nodes with some seriously grey credentials. Its the only thing from this project that is on the circuits, but damn if it isn't a big flashing red light saying 'Unauthorized IC roadcar rebuilding!!!'
But it's set. I have spark, I have fuel (seeing that needle at almost the 'F' made my week, let me tell you). Everything has been gone through as much as possible. Tonight I fire her up, and unless something explodes, I'm going driving.
Yes I know its stupid. I know the CO2 sniffers will pinpoint my IC engine the second I hit a public intersection. I know the fines, I know the risks, I know the measures they're allowed to take to bring down a 'gross pollutor'. But damnit, at least once in my life I have to do this.
So me and Emily are doing it, we're going out for a drive tonight.

[1] Hey I am as much of an ol-teck purist as the next, but asbestos linings? Even mentioning you want to be within 20 yards of asbestos is going to get you blipped. And trust me I did my pennance fitting those damn re-gen brakes. I milled more freaking adaptors than you want to believe. The only upside is I was able figure a way to run them on a shorted cycle[2] that'll actually feel like real brakes, I can even lock up the wheels (and when was the last time they made a roadcar you could *skid* in?)

[2] It turned out to be stupid easy. I used a set of clutch sensors to make the comp think I'm running four transmissions (I love small comps that don't think outside their box), all it took was a bit of cross-linking to make them run opposite of a clutch and default to off when the pedal is up. I have to give major thanks to MadHex45 for letting me in on his clutch algorithims. Emily is running one of his 'lectro clutches.

BTW, fun link
