I'm being mocked! Mocked, I tell you!
Feb. 21st, 2005 08:54 am *sigh* "So I spent this weekendtrying and failing to put a new transmission in Emily. The practical upside of this being that I now have two completely undriveable cars instead of one dead one and one that can at least drive around town.
PG was incredibly generous and is loaning me the use of their pickup truck so I can actually get to work this week. This means rather than scraping up rides, begging work for a rental or having to call out I can actually get to work and therefore actually get paid this week. It also means that if I co-ordinate it I can go up to vermont and get the replacement transmission for Scar. As payback I'm planning to do an oil change on the truck.
Except I woke up this morning to snow, and a lot of it, falling from the sky. And a look at the forcast is a long list of snow, sleet and freezing rain, interspersed with sub-freezing temps. Just the perfect weather for driving around in a borrowed RWD pickup, and doing lots of car repair in a drafty garage.
See? Mocked."
P.S. this in no way reduces how awsome my friends are for loaning me use of garages and trucks. Without those doing any of the stuff I need to do wouldn't even be possible. SO a big thank you again to ya'll for helping me out.
