A helpful lesson

  How NOT to change someone's mind about their self definition

  "On a directly related note, I am now actively and publicly stating that while I do not ever want to procreate or raise children, I refuse categoricly to call myself 'childfree' or otherwise align myself with that community, label or definition. Because thus far a way to large percentage of the people I have interacted with who actively call themselves that or define themselves by that term have been crazy, annoying as fuck, obnoxious, self-righteous, or some combination thereof.
  This is not to say I have any problem with any of my friends who happen to use that term. Because frankly, I have no idea which ones do, because they have never brought it up or tried to ram it down my throat."

Things to accomplish in the next few days

For my own sake, feel free to ignore.

• Ebay:
  
  • package all ebay items[4-15] and bring to post office[4-17]
    
    • send ones paid for.[4-17]
      
    • get shipping costs on dash trim, and figure out how much shipping will be for the fender trim goign to Denmark[4-17]
      
    
    
  
  
• Emily:
  
  • buy .23 mig wire (napa WH?, MI?)[4-17]
    
  • find a source for and buy a small bottle of argon for mig welder[4-17]
    
  • weld patch into emily's trunk[4-18]
    
  • POR-15 trunk, inc using fiberglass matting & POR-15 to fix rot hole in trunk lip
    
  • get gas tank from parts comet
    
    • put old gas from it into Roo
      
    • get replacement hoses for fuel line, fill tube and vent tube.
      
    • grind off old gasket & small corrosion spot
      
    • POR-15 top and edges of tank
      
    
    
  • paint wheel wells, back panel of trunk & spot on trunk lip white
    
  • splatter-paint floor of trunk
    
  • install 'new' tank w/ new lines, and new caulking around edge.
    
  • aquire new lower control arm/ball joint for driver's side[4-18]
    
  • (post junkyard)clean up strut rod, and paint that and new control arm
    
  • (post junkyard)install control arm and strut rod
    
  
  
• Bookcases:
  
  • sand down first stain coat with 000 steel wool[4-17]
    
  • wipe with tack cloth[4-17]
    
  • put down 2nd stain coat[4-17 may need to do a coat of clear polyurathane to get the shiny red mahogany color I want, because the red mahogany stain alone keeps looking a flad brownish when it dries]

  • get strut rod [4-15 was fubared, got (prolly) useable one at N. Smithfield]
    
  • find out price of Maverick drivetrain[4-15 $375, and they don't know its condition]
    
  • (possibly)Get Backwood's help/trunk to pull drivetrain and get it to CT[currently irrelevant]
    
  
  
• holland used auto parts
  
  • check out yard and see if it is worth coming back for '$50 all-you-can-carry' day on May 6th[4-15 no old stuff, lots of newer stuff, possibly worth it, also possible source of the Alley Cat getting rid of her old car and making a few $$]

  • W Mass Poly diner meetup Fri at 7pm
  [4-14 was fun, but had ppl/crowd/noise overload so didn't enyone it as much as I would have]
  
  • spending Fri night w/ the Amberfiend[4-14]
    
  • Sat day for junking (henry's closes at 2pm)[4-15]
    
  • Sat evening trying to make Jake's B-day in Boston [ended up going with the Amberfiend to her sat plans, as I was crashing at her place and trying to co-ordinate meeint back up would have been hellish, doubly so with a near-dead cellphone battery on my part]
