"I left the house obcenely early so I could be at a welding supply house when they opened at 7:30 so I could pick up some stuff there before needing to be at work at 8am. And I made it to work with one minute to spare, go me!
Spent $140 and bought a small tank of argon+CO2, a decent welding mask and a spool of .23 mig wire. This should get me set up to actually *weld* sheet metal, as opposed to burning holes in it like I had been doing with the .30 flux-core stuff I've been trying to weld with.
The tank is a small one and only good for ~1.5 hours of welding, but refills are $18 after you buy the $95 tank once.
So today after work I get to go make sparks with emily."
