Total time to remove transmission from Emily today:

1.5 hours

Geeze, you'd think I'd removed various transmission five times since I owned this car or something. or that I've pulled at least eight tranmission from various RWD cars in the last two years.

Pretty much the moment I finished the skies opened up and it started pouring. Course since now I have a garage and car repair doesn't have to take place outside I could jsut watch the rain instead of cursing it. Fortunately the transmission was the only vaguely outside thing I had to finish today (errands run before hand when it was sunny and nice).

Now shower, and either futzing with legos (I got a haul yesterday!) or if I'm still feeling ambitious I'll do some cleaning and sorting. Laundry neds to happen either way.

Score!

(crossposted from the Lego community)
So PG is currently temping at the Lego warehouse, and the other day was a 'friends and family' day where people other than just employees could buy from the Lego company store. So naturally I had to go.

Behold the swivel plate hinge, a useful part no doubt. One can come up with many ways to use this without even thinking hard.

However...

It is a bit harder to figure out how to come up with a use for this many.

So the bulk bins at the Lego Company Store I was at work differently than bins I've heard of elsewhere. These are bins of overstock/extra/etc. legos. They are full of random stuff, and all have various types of bricks mixed in. Most of the bins it just makes sense to reach in and grab a handful of whatever all is in there. Since a whole bag is $3, just get a lot of pieces and with luck they'll be useful. That was what I did friday, and yes most of the pieces will be useful (though I'm trying to figure out though what wheels will work with the 4 large rubber tank treads I got). But the 'grab a handful method' can produce some odd results.
