So I'm looking to get rid of Roo (my Subaru Outback wagon) as I'm getting tired of the manual transmission[1]. The car lists on kbb.com for $3850 in "fair" condition(the lowest condition they'll give a price for). So I figure that even with the dent in the rear 1/4 panel I should be able to get $2500-3000+ for the car as the drivetrain is in good shape(with lots of new parts) and the car is overall still pretty nice.
But first I need a replacement car.
( I really want a Scion xB )But that isn't really an option.
( I've been looking at the Ford Focus Wagon )But the car doesn't exactly fill me with glee.
I continue to be frustrated as the lack of any vehicles like what I want. I want a compact to midsized station wagon, automatic with a strong preference for a front bench seat and a column shift. And I want it to get at least 25mpg in combined driving. I want to pay ~$2K, and need to pay under $4K.
Of course, that doesn't stop me from looking at things like this car and trying to rationalize that 2-door wagon equals midsized, right?
[1] I can drive stick, but even after two years of driving manuals I still don't have the co-ordination to do it smoothly, so I'm giving up.

XKCD "A webcomic of romance,
sarcasm, math, and language." For the geek in all of us.
Malfunction Junction Matt Milby's comic diary. Bloody hysterical.
Lore Brand Comics Hasn't been updated in ages, but has a significant archive. Sarcasm, Misanthropy and humor co-existing in a drunken goatee'd man.
Planet Karen Karen Ellis' comic diary. Oddly Compelling.

Squee:
My Tom Switft Jr books showed up today. Turns out there were 23, not 22 as advertised. However two were duplicates leaving me a total of 21 unique editions. Some are pretty beat, with missing spines, but all appear to be in readable condition. Now I just have to find the rest...
The Funk:
I let one of the neighborhood kids use our bathroom. And I just have to say that whatever that kid's mom is feeding him, she needs to stop RIGHT NOW. Dear god the stink he left behind in the bathroom, it refuses to go away. I just opened half the windows in hopes of driving it out.
