I want to Buy a Diner. Specifically the Wayne Junctions Diner. It is a 1940s Paramount Diner and is gorgeous. It is nearly all original, with all it's original booths, stools and interior fittings. Granted it'll need some restoration, and I'd need to find a place to put it. But that is nothing compared to the difficulty and expense of getting it from where it is now and having it transported the 221 miles back to CT.
And even assuming that all goes smoothly (my last experience buying something old in Philly says it won't go smoothly), there is then of course all the unexpected expenses of trying to restore a diner, and convert it into a studio apartment. Which would likely destroy me.
Oh and I'd need a place to put it. Wonder if I could buy that old abandoned 1940's gas station in Bloomfield and park it next to that? Then I'd ahve a garage for the cars...
