So back on the 14th I took Box autocrossing. For those that don't know what that is, they set up a course in a parking lot with cones and you're timed on individual runs through them. Which makes it sound much more boring than it actually is. From the driver's seat it is driving insanely fast through a parking lot trying desperately to remember where to turn next and screaming around corners praying you don't flatten a cone.

Needless to say, I had a blast.

I woke up at 6:30 in the morning to drive the 1.1 hours to the site, and spent the next several hours alternating between working the course, hanging out in the pit area and (most importantly ) autocrossing the course. My first run was a miserable 50.47, however I slowly improved and my final official run was a 46.87 (with my final "fun run" being a 46.26). That final official time was good enough to not be the slowest person in the "Rookie Touring" class.

The next event is this Sunday and I am definitely going again. I don't have a chance in hell of "winning" as the rules lump the xB in with *way* faster and more modified cars. But if I can get good times and enjoy myself I'll call that a win.
