CRX-actly what are you thinking?
Oct. 9th, 2008 10:18 amI have been overcome by an inexplicably strong urge to own a Honda CRX. These were small 2-door 2-seater hatchbacks from 184-1991. In addition to getting stupid good gas mileage(high 40s to mid-50s), they were total pocket-rockets and had insanely good acceleration & handling due to their small size and light weight.
Of course due to this they are popular with the "tuner" crowd and as such most get pretty trashed and/or have some really unfortunate modifications done to them. I was looking for one during the car shopping that netted Box, but never found one that wasn't messed with in some way. Plus they tend to go for a fair penny in decent shape, and for even more for one a tuner has "upgraded".
Even after Box I've stayed interested as it would make a fun bomb-around car, or a good hypermiling car, or a good autocrossing car, or... You get the idea.
Why do I bring this all up? Because I just found this 1984 model on the RI craigslist in apparently original condition (but needing minor mechanical work) for all of $500.

Even at only 12ft long and 5.25ft wide I don't think I can fit it in the garage with Emily and all the other junk in there.
