Fiscally Soundless
Jan. 22nd, 2009 02:23 pmHow do I react to finding out that my entire department is going to cease to exist in 6 months?
I buy a laptop and make an appointment to go look at a house.
The laptop I'm rationalizing because I am tired of being trapped in a corner if I want to use my desktop (forced their by the size & layout of the livingroom). A laptop will better suit how I'm using my computer these days, and will improve my enjoyment of my life. Plus, I was able to get one with everything I wanted (except Win XP) for $556 shipped.
The house has the potential to be cheaper to mortgage than the place we are renting now (even if 2-bedrooms means having to split it 2 ways rather than 3 ways), has more space, a huge yard and a pretty sweet BARN(!). Plus hey, if I cansucker convince someone to give me a loan for it I can actually gain equity rather than just pay out to a landlord. And if I want to convince someone to give me a mortgage a couple years of solid work history is better than waiting until I have found another job and am a brand new employee.
I love the smell of rationalization in the morning.
