May. 3rd, 2009 11:18 amSome of you have heard me obsessing about this abandoned gas station in Bloomfield. I've rambled many a times about how I want to buy that gas station and the empty lot next to it so that I can build a house with a very cool garage.
I've talked about buying an old diner (you can find them for as little as $1 from people who just want the land), having it trucked over and using it as the kitchen/living room of a neat little house. I've talked about getting a Katrina Cottage Kit and building a house there. I want to restore the gas station into a really great place to keep my cars.
All of this has been an entertaining pipe dream, something to imagine, but not something I though I had any chance of.
Except today I found that exact gas station and piece of land for sale on Craigslist. As a package deal, for a reasonable price.
A price I can't afford to buy outright, and I am very unlikely to be able to get a loan for enough to both buy and build on it.
