There is nothing more sensuous than the phrase 'brand new pillow top mattress'
"Ok, maybe not quite. However in my bedroom right now is a brand new full size pillow top mattress. The first new mattress I've had in my adult life. The first mattress that wasn't the one I grew up on, or my sister's old one, or whatever. Its one without a ditch in the mdidle, and worn out padding.
It was a bit more than I had budgeted for ($635 with tax) but when I flopped on it in the store and was immediately comfortable I knew it was the right one (I'd tried at least a dozen other cheaper & pricer ones before that with no luck).
So I'm hoping this will help my shoulder issues, and improve my sleeping. I had been waffling over using the mattress money to pay off a slew of unexpected expenses. However I decided new decent mattress would provide longer term improvement to my life than getting out of a (fairly minor) debt hole.
The Alley cat is taking my old mattress (which is an improvement over the couch she's been sleeping on). I was very amused at realizing that owning a car and living on my own don't make me feel that grown up. But carefully removing and storing the plastic bags the mattress came in because I'll need them if I turn out to have any problems in the first 30days and want to return it, that made me feel very much like an adult."

Thanks for that! The first line really really hit home. 'Cause I am so very very very tired. Brand new pillowtop matress does indeed sound like the most desirable thing ever.
congratulations!
it will help, i swear :) also, you are quite right that you will get longer term satisfaction. mattress life is about 10 years. i found that with a good mattress i sleep better and am thus, more rested. also, my body doesn't hurt as much on a daily basis. when david and i moved and got the bed i have now, it was our first real mattress too. we topped it with memory foam. oh, joy!
