an act of civil disobedience

From here, seen on another friend's journal.

I fully agree with the following statement, and do fully make the following pledge myself.

So, here's the deal. I am making a pledge, which I fully intend to keep. If you need Plan B contraception, and you contact me, I will go to my local pharmacy and get it for you. Your parents don't have to know.

The CWFA will likely lobby Congress for a bill that will make my activities illegal, but I do not give a rat's ass for what the CWFA thinks of me.

This is an act of civil disobedience.

This is not a woman's right issue alone. This is a people's rights issue.

My feeling is that the issue with under-18 girls who need it is that they may *not* be able to tell a parent. The parent might violently object, or get violent at the situation, or be the *cause*. And there is the issue of a kid trying to get a prescrition w/o their parents involved.
