"So after a five year hiatus[1], I have decided to start celebrating my
birthday again. The only problem is that I missed it this year. So I have
decided to throw a 26 & 1/12th[2] birthday party. So I'm asking you all to come
over and celebrate with me on Saturday April 24th, with the actual birthday
brunch being on Sunday the 25th.
Since this is the first birthday I've had in a while, and the first birthday
party I've ever thrown I'm hoping a lot of you can make it.
Gifts are niether expected nor required, though food & drink(non-alcoholic)
for the party would be appreciated.
Festivities officially begin at 12:00 noon on Saturday the 24th, though travelers
are welcome Friday night if you call us ahead of time to make arrangements.
Partying will continue until unconsciousness on Saturday night/Sunday morning.
We will resume Sunday morning, but the party will officially end at 1:00 with
birthday brunch at the Goldroc Diner. People are welcome to return to the
apartment after brunch, but you will asked to clean, and we reserve the right to
throw you out without guilt anytime after that.
Bring games, bring conversation, bring munchies if you like (I'll be providing
a little, but more can't hurt). We will have games, gaming, Firefly DVDs,
pyrotechnics are strictly limited to the fireplace,
Limited crash space is available with prior arrangement, though most of it will
consist of floor space. The house is a smoke-free and DDR-free zone. If you
bring DDR we will make you go outside in the driveway to play it, we will also
mock you from the porch. Similarly with the cigarettes, though probably without
the mocking. There will be no alcohol at the party, since I don't drink and
don't enjoy the company of ppl who are doing so.
Street parking overnight is legal, so don't worry about staying too late.
Pickups at the bus/train station can happen if you lack a personal vehicle.
I know greyhound has a $22 each way shuttle from both NYC and Boston, and it
doesn't require advanced reservations.
Hope to see you all there!"
[1] mainly due to it's proximity to my father's date of death.
[2] or 26.08333... for you decimal ppl.
