"Today has not been a good day. I've been feeling miserable (and not physically) and short tempered all day. I got in a screaming-swearing mad fit because I couldn't get direct-cable connect to work on the computers.
I also found that the ppl who are running the Houston Art Car show haven't yet made up the budgets yet, so I don't know how much I'm getting. And even once I know they aren't planning to give me the money until I get *to* Houston. Which means not only can't I use some of the money to repair/upgrade The Cat, but I'm prolly going to have to borrow money to get down to Houston.
One of those planned upgrades was the new hood/fender/bumper, which I wanted to get painted at a body-shop so it would be less likely to chip like spray paint would, except the best price I've gotten was $150. Which right now there is no way I can afford. So I'm stuck trying to decide whether to prep the parts but not paint them in hopes I can manage to get the cash together before Houston, or to just go ahead and paint them myself and hope for the best. Unfortunately my cousin who worked at a body-shop and could have done this for me cheap just started his own auto-detailing buisness, and thus likely no longer has access to the stuff needed to paint a car.
I also haven't managed to find the reflective-yellow paint I need to repaint the 'CAUTION WEIRD LOAD' back bumper.
I've got two major additions to blert.net that I haven't managed tyo get the enthusiasm up for, plus a bunch of email I need to send out or reply to.
All I want to do is crawl into my bed and ignore the world. Except I don't have a bed, I haven't had a bed I could call my own since January of 2000, and haven't had a place of my own since September of 1998." *sigh*
