"That's right, The Cat is going under the wrench. I just got off the phone with the guy from the transmission shop, and if I get her in on mon/tues of next week she'll be done before spring break (the 22nd).
I like this shop, the guy I talked to seemed very knowledgeable and willing to help me out. Also they have flat rate price if $1,200.(plus tax) to rebuild the tranny in '91 taurui regardless of what it needs, and that rate comes in at or below the low end estimates of other places in the area. In addition they have a 12 month warrentee, which is much better than the 6 month one offered by the transmission rebuild place out in Ohio.
The one thing that makes me nervous though. I only have about $730 of the $1,272 it'll cost me. He is willing to accept that up front and wait for me to get my tax refund to pay off the rest. However he wants to hold the title to The Cat until he gets the rest of his money. This is normal buisnes practice, but it still makes me really nervous. I don't suppose someone would be willing to loan me $550 until I get my tax return?"

"If you ever hear me state that a paper I write for a psych course is crap, please smack me upside the head. The most recent paper which I thought was mediocre adn I'd have to revise, well, it just came back with an 'A+'.
I am amazed."

This Article discusses Car & Driver's review of the Cadillac Escalade EXT (The bastard child result of a three way between a pickup, and SUV and a Cadillac). High points include the fact that it weighs more and gets worse fuel economy than the Sayers & Scovill DeVille Masterpiece hearse that they reviewed a few months back. Funny article, even funnier if you think SUVs are stupid."
