"Well my move-in schedule got a bit hastened by an unexpected snowstorm. I had planned to move one load of stuff Fri and then move the last of the stuff and finish the last of the cleaning at the cottage Sat. As it was I had to have basicly everything out of the cottage on Sat, and quickly drain hte pipes and such so they wouldn't burst with the sub0freezing temps this weekend.
So all my stuff (except food) is now at [C]'s place, though all but the bed and blankets are still in the dining room awaiting moving upstairs.
Today will be some Xmas shopping for the family, then stopping by the storage unit for a dresser, and finally some unpacking. I need to figure out some sort of desk type setup for the computer.
I already like this location better as it doesn't involve any dirt roads, and I'm a few blocks from civilzation, not several miles. I need to remember to check out the used booksotre near here, and see what days the irsh pub has live music."

"I saw something today at Wal-Mart that made me ashamed to be a part of western civilization. I was in the automotive section when I saw:

WINDSHIELD DE-ICER IN PINE OR CINNAMON SCENTS

That's right folx, it's the stuff you put in your car's wiper-fluid tank to make clearing ice off the windshielf easier, except that it comes in pretty green & red colors and your choice of pine or cinnamon scents.

[SARCASM] Because of course when I'm in an ice storm and my windshield is icing over, I think to myself 'You know having a clear windshield would be nice, but that's not enough I want the outside of my windshield to have the fresh clean scent of pine.'[/SARCASM]

This goes beyond piontless stuff, right into the relm of 'someone slap the marketing department' This product is the answer to a question that not only did no one ask, but if they had asked it would have garnered them blank stares or howls of derisive laughter.

The only thing in my mind that redeems our society for this atrocity was that the shelves were full with not one bottle missing. So hopefully no one is actually buying this stuff."
