"Well, I am done my Xmas shopping, and if you don't count the two hours hanging out at a Starbucks reading, drining Peppermint hot coco and flirting with the barista, my shopping took all of 1.5 hours. I could to id now because work once again screwed up the schedule. But ythat's a sepreate rant.
Of course this is helped by the fact that since I'm not into getting or giving gifts purely based on a date, I and my friends don't really do presents for the hoildays[1][3]. So I buy gifts for my family, and even that is down to all of five gifts.
It was mildly disconcerting that twice today I charged over $100, and not once did any of the places look at the signature on my card. Thuis both amuses and distresses me. Distresses for the obvious reason, amuses because my card says CHECK ID across the back, so it becomes doubly blatant when someone pretends to check the signature but actually doesn't look.
I do believe I am going to reward myself by going to the used bookstore up the street."
[1] also I have spent years actively hiding my birthday because i really dislike celebrating it[2]
[2]at least partially because it is very close to when my father passed away, so there are painful memories associated with it.
[3] instead I give gifts randomly whould I find something I think suits the recipiant well.
