"So the people who sold me the Subaru need to die.
I won the auction Monday, and paid for it within hours. Included in the payment was a $99 'documentation fee'. I also included all info needed to fill out the paperwork on it, and asked they have it ready ASAP.
Tuesday afternoon I called about getting copies of the paperwork faxed to me, and discovered they had not only not done the paperwork, but not even read the email with the relevant info. Told me they'd call me right back. Called me back to tell me that they didn't have the title at the office, but that they'd have it and all the other paperwork ready and waiting for me with the car by Wednesday.
Wednesday I show up after 5pm at the office. No title, but the guy with it is 'heading over and stuck in traffic on the mass pike'. Fine, I tell them to have him call when he gets there, and go off to get a spare key made for the car. Come back and am told he has not showed up yet but should be there momentarily. I go off and deal with calling AAA to have the car towed to CT, I come back ~15 min later and am told he was actually there when I was out getting the key made, and that he had already left, taking the title with him. Am assured the title will be overnighted to me.
Fast forward to Friday around 9pm. Title has not showed up here. No messages or notes have been left saying they tried to deliver a package an failed. Nothing at all to indicate anyone tried to drop off any package.
Called guys selling car, got machine, left 5 minute insultingly polite message summing up entire situation.
Went to DMV today to see if I could register the car w/o title, told no way. Now even if the title were to magicly appear in my hands the earliest I could register the Subaru is Tuesday (DMV closed Mon), and the insurance gets canceled on Scar on Monday.
Freaking lovely."
EDIT 4pm: Called them at 10am, was told guy who (supposedly) sent of title wasn't in but that the guy who was there would call him, then call me back and update me. I called again at 11am ans was told that he has sent off title, but that when he got into the office at 2pm he'd call me. Recieved no call. I called again at 4pm to find no answer and left another scathing message.
