Things needing done

"An attempt at a more comprehensive list of stuff needing done for the move. Feel free to ignore.

-take down and wash curtains
-disassemble hutch units in my b-room.
-measure new bedroom for placement of said hutch units. (they fit!)
-disassemble bed
-pack rest of kitchen plates/pans/silverware/etc. (last minute)
-get gas turned on at new place and furnace pilot lit (appointment is for 12-2pm tomorrow, how f--ing annoying is that?)
-fix Emily's brakes and load basement stuff into her (badly bodged together but will work to get her across town)
-finish fiddly sorting of basement
-clean basement (after crap is moved out)
-scrub porch furniture *before* moving it
-arrange for van rental for 2nd
-get DSL & phone turned on in new place
-vacuum rugs before rolling up
-quick & dirty sand down and repaint of can cupboard door, and reinstall same.


Tragicly, my mom wants the microwave cart back, so we can't hurl it off the porch. But on the positive side she reminded me of a bunch of area rugs I have stored at her place.

Car (potentially) for sale

  "Would anyone on here (or any of your friends for that matter) be interested in a 1999 Subaru Forrester (6-cyl, auto, fairly well optioned)? It currently has an engine with a bad crank bearing, but a replacement short block (the entire bottom half of the engine) will be installed before delivery. Asking price, $8K.

  I'm asking because it is my mom's car, and she's not interested in keeping it. So I'll be taking it, having the engine professionally replaced, then selling it. I figured I see if any of my friends were interested before selling it to a stranger."
