I am annoyed at myself, and to a lesser extent the world.

I wanted to spend the early part of my vacation finding & buying a car. This has turned into a major hassle and a lot of running around with nothing to show for it. To that end I & my sweetie are going to spend today running around looking at cars as well. And if these cars don't pan out, probably tomorrow as well.

This has pushed everything else planned for this week aside.

I haven't built the desks, though I did find this one at the ikea site that might serve our purposes well. Plus it eliminates the hassle of cutting sanding & staining my desk concept, and I don't have to worry if it will be sufficiently stable.

I was supposed to meet with the financial planner some time this week. I completely forgot until I was in the shower this morning. I'm doubly pissed at myself for this one, because it is something I've been putting off for months, despite needing some stuff cleared up before the end of the year. I did call him just now and leave a message. If I'm lucky he'll have time in the next two weeks, if I'm *extremely* lucky he'll have something late today.

The bug hasn't gotten worked on, or even looked at. Though admittedly this is also the fault of it being bloody cold out and my heaters being on loan to a friend.

One of my "at the world" frustrations was the only car I managed to actually find to look at yesterday. I looked at a '05 Scion xB (yes I know, but I want one badly and this one seemed like a good one to look at). Well it had been sitting on the car lot long enough to rack up over 1,000 miles over what they took it in at, have the battery go flat, and the front rotors rust up. And yet despite the fact I know it has been on their lot for at least two months, and it apparently not being popular enough to get test driven (let alone sold) the guy refused to budge one inch on the price. I guess we know why it is still sitting there. Plus from being closed up for so long it smelled like old sweat socks inside, and the smell clung to us after we got out of the car.

Meh.

Well, off to do two hours of driving to look at yet *another* car.

sightly more coherent under here. )

EDIT: We'd been discussing how long I'd wanted one of these. Well I found this post from mid-november of 2006 where I had test-driven one, and I'd been obsessing over them for a few months at that point.
