"We were all sitting around in the dining room looking at the new card game the Alley Cat brought back from MarCon, when we heard a loud bang out in the street. Looked out the living room window to see huge amounts of smoke outside. Ran out on the porch to discover a Chevy burning merrily on street in front of our neighbor's. Grabbed fire extinguishers and ran out only tro relaize it was way too far gone to stop ourselves. Franticly moved the Alley Cat's car from where it was parked across the street from the burning car. Only once the fire truck arrived did we calm down enough to recall to grab a camera. So here are some pics of firefighters & crispy car.

Our whole apartment reeks of burnt plastics right now."

"Nah, the loud bang was the front tire exploding from the heat."

"What I could piece together is that the driver was coming down our street when it began to smoke, he pulled over and got out at which point he noticed flames under the hood. Grabbed his keyboard out of the trunk and call the police on his cell phone. By the time the fire engine got there the whole car was engulfed. The loud bang we had heard was the front tire exploding from the heat."

"Yeah the only guy in the car was fine, and was last seen wandering off down the street with the back license plate and whatever he had salvaged out of the trunk."

Ok, the keyboard I understand. Grabbing the plate doesn't.

"To cancel a registration in CT you need to turn in your plates. Since he's clearly going to have to cancel the registration for that car, and since any registration paperwork he had was likely in the glovebox the rear plate will be the only proof of having said reg and to cancel said reg.
Or he just wants to plate to slap on another car so it looks like its legally registered. In Hartford its a 50/50 shot."
