"Around 6:30 I hopped on a city bus into Hartford to start my journey to NYC. As soon as I got on the bus I saw the sign saying 'Monday Memorial day we will be running a Sunday schedule'. So I checked the schedule for that bus and found that bus doesn't run at all on Sunday. I was up for a long walk when I got back to CT.
Anyway, I caught the 7pm greyhound, and got into The City at about 10pm. I was supposed to be meeting friends at the theater at 68th st & Broadway to see Shrek. Caught the right train, but caught it going the wrong way, took two stops before I noticed, so i had to get off and get back on going the other way. Made it to the theater at 11pm. Several Vassar people were there including [J] and [E]. We caught the 11:30 showing of Shrek. Aside from our group of thirteen, there were about five other people in the theater. I want to say that Shrek is hilarious. It's so not a kids movie, or rather it's what kids wish a kids movie was, and not what society thinks it should be. Plus I think a new game is going to come up over trying to find movie refs in Shrek We then wandered over to Times Square to get something to eat.. All and all it was a great night. [J] her roommate and I finally caught the subway to queens around 4am, then hung out and talked for a while and everyone finally crawled off to bed around 6am.
Saturday morning we finally crawled back out of bed close to 6pm, then proceeded to sit around and watch movies (Blade is truely horrible, the CGI stuff in it is worse). [J] and I headed off to Rocky at the 12th st theater. I had forgotten how bad NYC Rocky was, and this show was even worse. After the same yawn inspiring floor show they've been doing for some 15 years, they then had the soundtrack on the movie turned up so high you couldn't hear any of the callback lines. Rather than getting a Rocky fix, I now have a strong urge to go see Rocky at a *decent* theater.
Sunday was spent doing basicly nothing. We awoke around 10am, and didn't get out of bed until almost 4pm. The only time we left the apartment was to get chinese & a newspaper down the block, and we brought both back to the apartment to read/eat. I think we watched some movies & TV shows, but I don't really recall. The whole day was spend in a low-energy lethargy. We crawled off to bed around 11pm, as I had to be up and over at [R]'s place for noon the next day.
Awoke the next day and headed off to [R]'s place. She and I hung out and talked for a while, then headed off in search of food and a ox big enough for her loom. the former took us to a neat little cafe where I had mint iced tea and pumpkin ravioli. The second took us damn near all over lower manhatten. Since of course it was a holiday and of course none of the shipping supplies places were open. We finally found one box that might work at a friend of her's candle shop, then found a second box that we thought might work even better at Trash & Vaudville on St Marks Place. Apparently when I'm dressed in my biker leather jacket and carrying a huge collapsed box on my shoulder I look very menacing, at least according to [R]. We wandered back to her place and hung out for a bit, [R] gave me a coupple CDs she didn't fel like shlepping to SanFran, anda statuette of the NYC Taxi Cow from the Cow Parade art installation. Eventually I headed back to Port Authority and caught the 8:30 bus back to CT (having missed the 7:30 bus by minutes). Of course by the time the bus got in at 10:50 the city busses had stopped running, so I couldn't even get a bus partway home. After walking the 4.3 miles(according to mapquest) home in about an hour and a half I spent another two hours catching up online, and headed off to sleep.
Now I have to call Pep Boys and see if they've gotten my drug test results back so I can actually start work.

This is probably the most amusing typo I've ever seen from you.

For those puzzled by this, he means a BOX. With a B. Cardboard thing. My loom is not so huge that I need an ox to haul it to California!
