I am once again trying to cut caffeine out of my diet. It doesn't wake me up, it just makes me more jittery, ruins what tiny bit of eye-hand co-ordination I have and causes me to be exhausted a short time later.

However I am having the devil's own time eliminating it from my diet. I am currently out of the Propel I usually drink and have been trying to find something at the cafeteria at work to drink. However I just discovered today that the iced tea I usually drink has caffeine in it. And so I switched to a different bottled tea only to discover with a bit of poking around online that it has caffeine added as well.

Meh. Need to get a few more cases of Propel, so hopefully I can actually eliminate the caffeine, not just get it when I'm not expecting it.

Just for your future information, most tea has caffeine unless it specifically says it is caffeine free. Most of it has far less than coffee and some colas, but it's got some.

Yeah, its safe to assume coffee, tea, cola (Dr Pepper, Mt Dew and Barq's too) and hot chocolate all have natural caffiene in them. Most energy drinks too.

I sympathise - I'm on a no caffine diet for medical reasons and it sucks.

{Geek Advice now} What I've learned after 8 weeks is that anything that says tea, coffee, or chocolate has caffine in it (even decaf). Propel is great as are all the little flavor packets for water, so long as they are not tea. I've defaulted to a lot of juice, kool-aid, and lemonaide.{end geeking}

Good luck with that.

Drink WATER, honey.

Bottles, canteens, whatever. It's better for you than the Propel or any of those soft drinks. I did this myself, and after I got over the initial "OMG I NEED A SOFT DRINK OR I WILL DIE OF THIRST" (which was about a week's worth) suddenly the water is much more satisfying than soda, bottled tea, "fitness water" or any of those other things.

I do indulge in fruit juices, but only the 100% fruit juices, and usually the smaller quantities.

I can't drink water in large quantities. If it isn't ice cold I can barely choke it down. And even if it is ice cold I can only drink a bit. If I drink too much I feel nauseated rather than refreshed.
