Johnny Cash's "Hurt"

I can't recall now who I was talking about this with, but here it is. Johnny Cash covering Nine Inch Nails' "Hurt" shortly before his death. The music and video are incredibly powerful to the point where Trent Reznor said "Wow. [I felt like] I just lost my girlfriend, because that song isn't mine anymore"

If it wasn't for the lyrical flow being so modern, I also would have assumed Trent had done the cover rather than the other way around. That is amazing!

When I first heard this version of the song, it was around 2005, I think, and I'd never heard Trent's version (which now sounds like a whiny cover to me.) I used to get it stuck in my head all the time, and I would wander around signing chunks of it in ASL.
