Given I am spending most of my days sitting around the house, I should probably update this more often. So without further ado, an update.
Unemployment: After a surprisingly helpful casework at the unemployment dept, and an unbelievably terrible HR department at work I finally managed to get filed for unemployment. It only took a week. Now I am waiting until next thursday for a hearing over the phone to determine if I'm eligible, my caseworker says it is mostly a formality and it shouldn't be an issue. If they determine I am eligible I'll be paid back to the 29th when I filed.
Schooling/Orthotics: Turns out every program I can find requires a Bachelors Degree (I have an Associates), so that is pretty much shot. I may try going back to school for my bachelors as it can't hurt to have it for the future, but that is all vague theory at this point.
Job Prospects: It is to laugh.

auntiemame67 and I had one the first weekend in December. We went to Albany NY, which sounds boring but was cheap and actually rather nice. I photographed a half-dozen diners across the city, and we went to the NY State Museum, which was surprisingly huge and cool. I've been uploading photos of the museum to this flickr set, and still have another thirty-five or so to upload tomorrow, including shots of the indoor carousel.
Health: I have a cold. It sucks.
Mental Health: I've taken a lot of hits to the ego & self-worth over the last year, and now being unemployed has made that much worse. Trying not to feel like a useless lump, and being only partially successful.
